Letter to the Producers


Dear Nigel Godrich, 

I am writing this letter to you to request permission to use the song 'Idioteque' by the artist Radiohead in the filming of a music video. 

I am making a protest music video to be played to this song that you produced in 2000, to the Album 'Kid A'.

The music video will not be placed on any public domains, nor will it be used for anything that could tarnish it’s reputation. 

The video will be completed by July of 2020, and will be used as part of my coursework for my A-level Media Studies course. 

I hope you take the time to consider my request.

Taylor Swift  - 'You Need To Calm Down’ Directed by Drew Kirsch & Taylor Swift CINEMATOGRAPHY This video was shot in Santa Clarita, California. This means that the colours are all very bright and vivid, as the bright sun enhances the bold colours. This in turn keeps all of the scenes exciting and visually interesting to look at.  In addition, the bright colours and lack of dark shadows reflects the overall positive LGBT pride and happy, relaxed tone of the piece, with hints of mockery towards those that are against sexuality freedom and self-expression. Drones are frequently used to capture birds-eye shots of a pool float in the middle of a large paddling pool. This shot type allows us to see the whole pool, and highlights the individual in the centre, creating a more impactful shot. Protest Songs - A History -Protest songs have been around for a very long time. They are an outlet for a number of things and feelings such as angst, anger, frustration and annoyance. -Songs have always been a method used by people to express their emotions in the hopes of changing a situation. A progression through time: - The very first protest songs in America were very simple and short songs that were sung as a protest against war.
