Music Video Mood Board



My mood board:

I have chosen to include some very interestingly lit scenes and images of the woods and nature.The flooding light makes the images seem almost 'magical' which for the section of my video where I am showing how nature should be, contrasting to the global warming and scenes of destruction, I will take inspiration from this mystical flooding light to really make nature look attractive and to employ feelings of sadness that this will all be lost. 
Secondly, I have chosen images containing colourful flowers. This is because I want to include a variety of colours throughout my video to help keep the audience engaged and interested. In addition, I will be filming many of my scenes in various fields and locations that I have found that have colourful flowers in.
I have also included two photos of my example character in the video. My video will star a similar person, with long blonde hair. This is confirming to the 'fairy' like stereotype, a character that we all absentmindedly associate with fairies and nature.
I have also included a photo of a path leading into the woods. This is because I am inspired by the use of shadow to create dark areas, and a sense of mystery and tone. I will be filming scenes in my video in woods like this as well, and will try to use shadow in a similar way. As a result of this, hopefully the audience will stay engaged throughout the video, and not tire of seeing the same kinds of light.
Finally, I have included a black and white image of a felled tree. This is because I also want to include a black and white scene, as this is typical for a protest music video, and is prevalent in the protest song music videos that I am taking inspiration from. In addition, I feel that this is a feature that reflects the band Radiohead well, and will help to portray the emotion that they feel towards global warming. In addition, this scene being different from the rest will add more contrast to my piece.

Taylor Swift  - 'You Need To Calm Down’ Directed by Drew Kirsch & Taylor Swift CINEMATOGRAPHY This video was shot in Santa Clarita, California. This means that the colours are all very bright and vivid, as the bright sun enhances the bold colours. This in turn keeps all of the scenes exciting and visually interesting to look at.  In addition, the bright colours and lack of dark shadows reflects the overall positive LGBT pride and happy, relaxed tone of the piece, with hints of mockery towards those that are against sexuality freedom and self-expression. Drones are frequently used to capture birds-eye shots of a pool float in the middle of a large paddling pool.
